This is a heritage accommodation; 'Swarga', meaning Heaven. Located in the main center of touristy, traditional and artistic town of Kathmandu; Thamel. We are tucked inside a beautiful quiet stone paved alley. We have a rooftop art gallery and yoga studio, ground floor is our lobby area and our private cafe with small courtyard that serves coffee, tea, beer and wine along with a set of breakfast and brunch menu. All other floors are different variations of unique Tibetan themed rooms. Swarga, is a heritage stay located at the most central core of Kathmandu in Jyatha, Thamel. After graduating from Australia and having the opportunity of working in the finest 6 star hotel, Palazzo Versace. I returned back home to convert our family residence into a heritage accomodation with a blend of Neoclassical and Traditional Nepali Exterior with Tibetan and Nordic Interiors. The building was built by my parents 40 years ago as our primary family residence I want you all to dwell into our homes, feel the warmth of Nepalese hospitality at its finest and to experience Nepali craftmenship. I am the architect and the interior designer of the property aswell as the owner and host at Swarga. At the property you will notice we have used a lot of salvaged wooden carved pillars, balcony balustrades and beautifully carved windows. I am very vocal and active in restoring and reviving our culture and tradition so that our future and the tourist can understand us better. We have used all local sustainably sourced natural materials while building Swarga. Our bedroom lights fixtures are made of Nepali recycled lokta papers with marigold and fern leafs on it, which gives a warm which are both comfortable to the eye and the body. Cafe and Lobby Lights are made of Nepali Hemp. Our floorings are recycled terracotta clay tiles and floor mats being made out of pater plants. Our floor skirtings and the furniture are all made using the finest of Nepalese Rose wood and were custom made in the property itself.
