There is a fitness culture in the neighborhood because we are surrounded by lakes and walkers and runners, cyclists and boaters, people fishing, races, walks and marathons and the folks that come to the pool.
The neighborhood is as quiet as a cemetery at night but during the day a steady parade of fitnes walkers can be seen going down our avenue in the front and around & around Rockland Lake state park in the back.
One-third of Rockland County is reserved parkland so we have a lot of wildlife here don't be surprised if you see a doe with twin fawns walking down the street next to you or if you see a fox dart across the road. Every animal that was in the Disney movie Bambi lives here.
You can stay in quiet Congers (pop 8,158), visit noisy NYC (pop 8 million) then return here to get some rest away from the honking and sirens.
Stay here for the views, luxury and quiet and take day trips to the city to see the museums, Broadway shows and Sightseeing. We're only 19 miles from NYC !
But you don't really have to leave the area, there is SO MUCH to do in the Congers vicinity and an endless variety of available foods, within walking distance or a short ride away or by delivery.

BY CAR
The best way to come in from New York City is by car. We'll give you directions with our check-in information.
BY BUS
There are buses that come directly here from the 42nd St. Port Authority bus terminal and the George Washington bridge bus terminal.
BY TRAIN
Our closest train stop is Spring Valley a 15 minutes car ride from our Bed and Breakfast.
We have a small mall within walking distance for your Dunkin donuts, pizza, and deli needs.
A bigger mall a few minutes away by car with a liquor store, supermarket (with an excellent buffet), 99 cent store and still more pizza and pasta.
And the third mall - also close by - is the second largest mall in New York State. It is huge... so much can be said about it. Read my section on the Palisades Mall in my guidebook. Its amazing!
