Welcome to 'Harping on Ryde'. This cottage and property is wonderful in all four seasons! This 1.5 story 4 bedroom cottage twinkles with charm and character. This original cottage carefully preserved to keep its authentic feel and beauty of the Viceroy design. The cottage abounds with eclectic decor, and almost all of the furniture is original, preserving the endearing, well-loved ambiance. A covered porch leads to the vintage-style kitchen complete with everything you need including a 3-burner avocado green stove. Lots of space for food prep! An open dining to living room overlooks the large deck which faces south out to the lake. The primary bedroom and 4-peice bath shares this level, as well as the sunroom (seasonal). The bathroom features some wonderful vintage elements like original tile in the tub. Take the wooden open staircase to the second floor, which looks down to the floor below with an open-style railing. Three simple bedrooms and a half-bath are on this level. In the basement is a washer and dryer, and space to dry wet winter clothes. The cottage is well-stocked with everything you need- fully equipped kitchen, bedding, towels, all of the kind fitting for a family cottage. The beautifully treed yard provides a firepit, picnic table and grassy space for lawn games. Follow the wandering pathway down to the waterfront. A tranquil sitting area overlooking the lake leads to the gorgeous large dock, which offers endless summer water play. For the summer season there is a canoe and kayaks for use. The water entry is gentle and sandy although there is no beach, but the large dock has a ladder. The quaint cottage name comes from the owner who plays the harp, and used to keep a harp at the cottage to play overlooking the lake. Please note this is a cottage for families or couples, this is NOT a party space or fitting for large groups. This is a treasured family cottage in a quiet, intimate cottage area.
