Vanessa’s place was as described, cozy, in a convenient location, clean and easy to get to. The kitchen and kitchen appliances need renovation, and the mattresses are a bit thin and hard, but if you’re not picky about that, the place is a great value for money. We had a really good stay except for the fact that the fire alarm turned on for no reason in the middle of the night and after trying to turn it off multiple times, we tried to call the ‘emergency contact’ but nobody answered. We ended up calling the firefighters after having a very stressful 1.5 hours wait with the alarm non stopping. While it’s true that Vanessa couldn’t do anything for us at that moment as she told me the day after, answering the phone and guiding us on the best thing to do in that situation would be game changer. We are not locals and didn’t know what to do in situation like that. But I’m sure it was just an unfortunate situation that hopefully won’t happen again.

We had a fantastic week at the Muskoka River Retreat! The cottage is exactly as advertised, the location is great. We really appreciated the supply of firewood - the woodburning stove was definitely a highlight given the time of year we visited! We would definitely stay here again and we recommend you check it out if you're looking for a place to relax and explore Bracebridge (lots of waterfalls & great hiking around!)

My friends and I had a great time staying at Venessa's place. Venessa is very responsive and easy to communicate. Her place was surrounded by wonderful views. Will come back!
