We were more than pleased with Ocean Lodge's accommodation. Our unit was very clean and large and look exactly like the pictures. Staff was courtesy and professional. The new rooftop restaurant was the best food we ate on the whole trip. We will differently stay here on our next trip.

I booked with Ocean Lodge a month in advance, fully disclosing that I was travelling with a pet dog. I even wrote a nice note to them, describing the dog - non-barking, non-shedding and friendly. They wrote to me three days before my scheduled booking, telling me that I couldn’t bring my pet. After much back and forth on the phone, they allowed me to continue with the booking, but charged me an extra $168 USD for “Deep Cleaning”. Two problems - I contracted for the use of the unit, paying the rental fee upfront with full disclosure that a pet was coming with me. Included in the fee was a cleaning charge, which I already paid. Secondly, there is no “Deep Cleaning” involved, as the unit is quite sparse in furnishings with absolutely no rugs. Even the staff at the Ocean Lodge indicated that pets come all the time and are housed on the second floor. This “rule” must have come from the AirBnB owner - not the hotel. The unit was clean but very dark and had very dated furniture.

They called to cancel on us at 4:10pm when check-in was 4pm. They told us that they didn't have a room for us, even though we reserved weeks in advance. When I asked what we were supposed to do they gave me the manager's number. It went straight to voicemail and I never got a call back. I have never had such an inconsiderate experience with a host. It was a huge inconvenience for my wife, myself, and my 2-year-old daughter as we were 5 hours from home on a Birthday trip.
