Offering two sumptuous bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, this is a superb option for a couple or for a small group that are looking to explore the best of what Norfolk has to offer! Providing generous, comfortable rooms throughout, you will find that this characterful cottage has been adorned with many modern conveniences, exemplified in well-appointed kitchen and contemporary bathrooms. The ground floor features a large kitchen/ dining area, from which you are able to easily access the sitting room, or both the front and back gardens. A wonderful hub that allows parents the peace-of-mind in knowing that the children cannot get too far out of sight. Outside, York Cottage features two enclosed garden spaces that have been tastefully planted with mature old English roses and plentiful herbs. With furniture provided in both, guest are encouraged to enjoy good weather light and balmy evenings in this lovely, private areas. For further convenience, two off-road parking spaces have been provided. Being only a short walk away from several outstanding restaurants, pubs, including the renowned Thornham Deli, you may even decide to leave your car parked up for the duration of your stay. Additional Information Two dogs welcome, by prior arrangement, for a small additional charge. High chair and travel cot are available by prior request. Feather bedding is provided.
The ever-popular village of Thornham is a great base for a holiday and is an old smuggling village right on the North Norfolk Coast. Wide expanses of salt marsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and bird watchers. There are several great places to eat including Thornham Deli, selling all manner of local produce and great coffee, breakfasts and lunches; The Lifeboat Inn an old smuggling haunt complete with heavy beams and roaring fires good food and ales; and The Orange Tree which is a lovely gastro pub which also boasts a dog menu. The beach, reached by a walk over the sea defences and over the salt marshes, is quite stunning and you will be rewarded by total peace and quiet! On the edge of the village you will find Drove Orchards, where you will love dining at Eric's Fish and Chips. Otherwise buy and enjoy fresh fish at Gurney's fish bar or shop for clothes or home decor at Nelle clothing and Joyful Living. You'll also love the wonderful Drove Orchard's farm shop and pick-your-own fruit farm. Head to Brancaster and you'll find other places to eat including the fantastic The Ship.
The NWT Holme Dunes Nature Reserve and RSPB Titchwell are both within walking distance or a very short drive by car, so if wildlife is your thing, you won't be disappointed!
Brancaster beach is just a short drive away as are Holme-next-the-Sea and Old Hunstanton beaches. The Coasthopper bus stops in the village too, making it easy to get anywhere along the coast if you don't want to drive yourself.
Burnham Market, Holkham Estate and HM The King's Sandringham Estate are only a short drive away too.
