Culnacnoc · 袖珍小屋 · 0室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · The Wee Bothy. Amazing sunsets
A quaint and unique place to get away from it all, this warm and comfortable bothy is nestled between the sea and the spectacular Trotternish ridge. Perfectly located for the discerning explorer, the best of Skye's sights are a short stroll or drive away, including The Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Staffin Beach and the dino footprints at Brother's Point. The bothy is fully-equipped and receives regular 5* reviews. A perfect place to unwind and watch a beautiful sunset after a day's exploring. The wee bothy is set within the grounds of an Old Mission Church, built in 1912. While the owners are next door, the bothy is a private retreat enclosed by fencing, overlooking rolling croft land to the Trotternish ridge beyond, and with a private decked area to relax on and enjoy the views year round. Lounge in the hammocks in the spring-summer, or sit out with a hot cuppa in the shoulder months, lit by fairly lights for additional atmosphere (when the northern lights are not on display!) Inside, the bothy is comfortable and quaint providing a well designed combined living space and equipped kitchen complete with fridge, oven/grill, hob and microwave. A cosy hub encases a comfortable double bed - climb in up the mini ladder and relax reading a book under the nautical themed lighting, or snuggle in to watch your favourite movie or TV series in bed! After a long day’s exploring, relax on the mini sofa with a good book or some TV. There is a good a range of DVDs, guide books/leaflets and novels to choose from. A separate shower room and w.c ensure all the comforts of home within a cute and characteristic idyllic haven. There is no washing machine, however we can offer washing/drying for a small fee.
We had a great stay at the tiny house. The accommodation is clean, pretty and has everything you need. The books, flowers and dvd's are a nice extra. Rachael gives a lot of good information and the communication was always on point. Calnacnoc is beautiful as well :).
Fantastic wee bothy! Location is on a main road and super easy to get to, and smack bang in the middle of the Old Man of Storr and Quiraing! Inside it’s very quaint, cosy and warm. Bed is comfortable, and cooking facilities are clean and easy to use. Great comms from host, fantastic views! Would absolutely recommend
Very cute wee Bothy, with a super comfy bed. It would have been nice to have been left at least a pint of milk. All other Airbnb owner left milk, eggs, juice or bread.
This was such a special gem to stay in while visiting Isle of Skye. Very cosy and relaxing with stunning views. We loved the lambs that were playing outside our doorstep. Great location which is close to Old Man of Storr and Quiraing hike locations. We loved the Brother’s Point walk which is just down the road. Rachael was really friendly and helpful sending tips and local recommendations prior to our stay. Quaint kitchen with everything needed to cook and heaps of books and movies to choose from. Thanks for having us stay, we highly recommend booking!!
The Wee Bothy is perfectly situated for taking in some of the best sights and views Skye has to offer. Within short walking distance is beautiful and historically interesting Brother’s Point, with stunning seascape views to the far off mainland Torridon hills and Applecross peninsula and the dark silhouetted Isles of Raasay and Rona. At the shoreline discover the recently found and abundant dinosaur footprints of the giant Brontosauras! A small but excellent museum just up the road explains more about these rare dinosaur prints and other locally discovered fossils, including one of the best examples of fossilised dinosaur footprints in the world.
A short drive south and you’re at one of the most famous vistas on the Isle of Skye, the Old Man of Storr, a spectacular rock formation and a haven for walkers and photographers. The hike up is a treat in any weather, giving the visitor opportunity to get up close to crags and jagged peaks, made further famous in the recent Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
In the local township of Staffin there’s a beautiful sandy beach, shops and cafes, and a little further on north you will find yourself at The Quiraing, one of the most interesting landscapes on the whole of the Trotternish Ridge, heralding spectacular pinnacles, beautiful lochans, and far-reaching sea views.
Continue further north for fantastic seafood, the museum of island life, the Fairy Glen, Uig pier, pottery and brewery and transport to the Western Isles.
The Wee Bothy is conveniently situated around 20-25 mins drive north of the Island’s capital, Portree. You have a dedicated free parking space.
The bothy is also conveniently served by a local bus route from Portree.
The road to the Wee Bothy is the main road north on the island’s beautiful east coast, with beautiful sea views to the right all the way along, and the dramatic Trotternish ridge with the Old Man of Storr to the left. Branching off are dramatic and interesting single track roads with passing places and meandering sheep for company. Each hill and bend guarantees dramatic views in all directions.
