We have visited Crickhowell many times. We keep coming back because it's an incredibly beautiful and preserved place. Jack's place is in a perfect location, being right in the centre of Crickhowell but equally very quiet and peaceful. It's really comfortable and well-stocked with all you would expect for self-catering accommodation and more. Will definitely return.
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Jack & Ali's place. Was a perfect get away, very clean and nicely decorated. Right in the centre of Crickhowell which was great, and very comfortable. Also very clear communication. Would highly recommend!
Gorgeous clean house - perfect location - really helpful and responsive host - couldn't recommend it more! Thanks for a lovely stay :)
This apartment is so beautiful - we loved it and will definitely recommend to friends, and want to stay there again. A brilliant location, a one minute walk from the car park which is great value at £4 per day, and it was a lovely layout, with great decor. Perfect.
Crickhowell has a unique high street which is filled with independent shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants.
It has a vibrant atmosphere and is a unique town. Crickhowell is in the black mountain range and is surrounded by mountains, locally you have Crug Hywel (table mountain)
The sugarloaf mountain is just a couple of miles out ofCrickhowell, and just down the road in Abergavenny is the home of the skirrid mountain.
Heading out of Abergavenny towards Blaenarvon you will find the Blorenge, this is a beautiful mountain road, and just before you reach the blorenge, there is a wild swimming pond called keepers pond, this is a great place to park up take a dip and walk to the mountain peak.
From Crickhowell you can easily access llangynidr, village and follow the road over the mountain and take in some breathtaking 360 degree views.
Llangattock escarpments is a line of limestone cliffs and scree slopes , it can can be seen from Crickhowell and is only a few miles drive away, know for its extensive caving systems.
The road leading out of Crickhowell towards Talgarth takes you past Tretower castle & Manor House which is worth a visit, further up the road you have Cwmdu which regularly hosts dark sky events, as it’s known for its clear skies and minimal light pollution it’s the perfect spot for some star stargazing.
Further along this road you come to Pengenfford, which is the start of the dragons back walk, which will take you up to Waun Fach mountain, which is the tallest mountain in the black mountains range.
The road then comes out in the town of Talgarth, the town has a lovely traditional mill, which you can walk around and eat the home milled and made bread.
Talgarth has some lovely waterfall walks.
My personal favourite road out of Crickhowell is the Gospel pass - situated just outside of Abergavenny, this road is wales highest mountain road, it’s a very narrow mostly single track road but it’s a road you will never forget with some amazing stop offs along the way, Llantony Abby with its cellar bar is a must stop off.
Cwmyoy church is a hidden gem.
Before descending this road to Hay on wye you reach Hay bluff mountain, a great place to watch the sun set.
And finally the road gets you to Hay on wye
The worlds first town of books and if you like Crickhowell you will love Hay on wye.
