This upstairs garage apartment is a new build behind a century home in Lansing, Iowa. It's unique style and peaceful location near downtown make it the perfect place to relax and stay. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. (There are stairs to get to this suite.) Large open area with King Size Bed. A Queen air mattress is available upon request. You will enter the side door to a 2 story garage to enter this property. The open floor plan has a couch and chairs in the front of the room with the television. A small kitchen area with table, chairs and work space island are in the center. A full size refrigerator and microwave are in the kitchen area. There is no dishwasher. The back of this spacious area is where the king size bed is located. There is a shower only in the bathroom (no bathtub).

Unique space in quaint small town, fun for a night or two, longer stays might find the quirks harder to get comfortable with. Lacking some small touches that could make it more inviting, but still worth checking out if you don’t need every last comfort provided.
My partner and I spent a weekend at Rachel’s place. G maps brought us to the wrong home, but the pictures of the place made it easy to locate after we drove around a bit. Upon entry, it was very cold and took a while for the place to warm up. The heater shut off during the middle of the night too, but we eventually figured out how to use it after watching a YouTube video. We found the various lighting options to be a nice touch- it was easy to create the ambiance we wanted using the soft and white light fixtures. The space was very open and the bed and couch were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with lots of wash cloths and towels, which was a big plus after two days of hiking. The faucet took a bit of patience to get warm water going, and I wish the warmth transitioned faster. The blackout curtains were great, and made going to sleep easy. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend. :)
Rachel's place is very nice, and walking distance to the stores and restaurants in Lansing. Her communication was excellent and very helpful. We will definitely stay again, well done Rachel!

The Driftless Education and Visitors Center is located about a mile away. There you can learn a lot of history of the area as well as learning about native wildlife. Hours of Operation: Open Year-round

Mt. Hosmer Park will give you a panoramic view of the beautiful Mississippi River valley from a couple different look-out points. The 104-acre park is situated on a bluff 450 feet above the town of Lansing. Savor the natural splendor of Iowa and neighboring Wisconsin and Minnesota from this scenic overlook. To access the park, drive west on Lansing’s Main Street and make a left on 6th Street and continue up.
The street is typically quiet. There is parking on the street with availability next to the garage off the alley, if needed.
Being only about a block from Main Street you can walk to most places in Lansing.
