We found The Forest’s Last Stand the perfect retreat from the hustle & bussle of town and Fort old town but still within easy reach. The house has been designed with passion and style to be in sympathy with the environment which makes it a lovely place to relax and unwind. The hospitality is charming and helpful - loved the breakfast. The local unintrusive monkeys are regular visitors to the garden which they regard as part of their jungle - great entertainment. Highly recommended.

One of my best stays ever for all 10 years of my Airbnb experience. Highly highly recommended to those who are looking that one special place for the special trip. Heenatigala is very caring host and interesting person to talk to. He was always ready to help and answered all our questions promptly before and during the stay. The house is clean, beautiful, built with love, taste and attention to details. Privacy is guaranteed, because it’s securely surrounded by the trees (we were seeking it after crowded hotel experiences and the place matched ideally). It also has a small private forest which is perfect for birdwatching and morning coffee meditation. Special thanks to Janith, the housekeeper, who cooked us the best breakfasts every morning and gave a lot of valuable advices. Would love to come back one day.

Amazing place! I would recommend anyone reading this to stay there. It’s where modern meets nature and was so lovely. It was hard to leave the place every morning to go somewhere else. The host and cook are very nice people and lovely to chat with as well.

The place is amazing. Very private, very beautifully designed and lots of nature. Owner is very responsive and very helpful. He even helped out in getting some medicines himself when we needed it in rainy weather. Special shout out to Janith, the housekeeper. He made great breakfast and was very helpful in recommending parties for NYE and cab rentals!

I Had posted some photos of my stay at Heenatigala's house, and I had so many friends ask me details and information about his place. The house is truly quite a unique spot. It's situated bang in the middle of a busy part of Galle, but once you enter, it feels like you are in a forest, there is a stream flowing through the property. the Space itself is totally unique and I only wished I got to spend more time at the space. but there is also so much to do on a holiday in southern Sri Lanka. but if I am ever needing a place to stay in this part of the country, I would not hesitate to stay there again.
