The picturesque Welsh Marches scenery surrounds the mediaeval market town of Ludlow, which is located on the River Teme. The town has a wonderful variety of architecture, including Ludlow Castle, which is almost 900 years old and one of the first stone castles to be erected in England. The town has more than 500 listed structures.
