Come and stay in this charming character cottage in the historic Market Town of Ormskirk. The fantastic location, only 5 minutes stroll to the town centre, offers an abundance of amenities right on your doorstep. Resting in a row of pretty whitewashed cottages this cosy home is nestled in a lovely position just far enough away from the bustling town centre. Lovingly refurbished, Bluebell Cottage is a perfect base to just relax or to enjoy all that Ormskirk and the surrounding area has to offer. Tucked away on edge of the town centre is this well presented, comfy period cottage. It has 1 double bedroom sleeping 2 adults and 1 child in cot (available in request). We are dog friendly and 2 well behaved dogs are welcome (we do ask that they do not go on the furniture or upstairs and are not left unattended). Features cozy living room with log effect electric fire and smart TV, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and a large modern bathroom with bath and shower over. Outside there is a private enclosed front garden and enclosed rear courtyard with patio furniture. Hive central heating keeps the cottage warm and cosy in winter and cool in summer. There is a small free car park directly opposite the cottage and plenty of free nearby on road parking. Additionally there is a long stay car park a couple of minutes walk away. Free high speed WIFI is available throughout the property.

We came to stay at Bluebell Cottage for the Grand National and stayed for Ormskirk. Easy to find the cottage, with free parking out front and a lovely, welcoming entrance - quirky and cosy. The cottage was better than described, so quiet and peaceful. It was the perfrect size for the two of us and the amenities were spot on, although we didn't eat in as Ormskirk has a lot of lovely palces to eat and drink. Everything was on the ddorstep and only 10 mins walk to the station which made it perfect to get to Aintree. It felt like a home from home and it's clear Dorothy really cares for the property and her guests. We've already booked again for next year as we were so impressed.
Beautifully renovated cottage. Loved staying here it was so relaxing and comfortable. Had everything you could need. Enjoyed the gingerbread gift on arrival 😍. Great restaurants and bars a short walk away. As Dorothy had said the stairs is steep so might not suit everyone but we had no complaints. Spacious bathroom and bedroom. Lovely well equipped kitchen. I hope we get a chance to stay again.

Had the most comfortable two nights stay at this lovely cottage while at a local wedding. Dot is the most friendly host, the welcome pack had brilliant information and we were even greeted with a little treat! The whole cottage is sparkling clean and comfortable, the bedding and towels smelt amazing! My husband and I slept so well, even while I was heavily pregnant! A real home from home. Ormskirk could be described as the beating heart of rural West Lancashire. Renowned for its historic twice weekly traditional market and for its gingerbread, Ormskirk is a bustling pedestrianised centre with a warm welcome, rich heritage and folklore. The town itself has much to offer, with many beautiful and independent shops to explore as well as an array of restaurants, cafes pubs and bars. It really does have something for everyone. It’s also a perfect base to explore the rest of Lancashire and Merseyside, with excellent rail and road links. Liverpool and Preston are just a 25 minute rail journey away or why not head to the seaside town of Southport (20 minutes by car) and stroll along the prom! Cumbria and The Lake District are also only around an hour away by car. If it’s sport you are interested in, we are within easy reach of Anfield, Goodison Park, Aintree Racecourse and Royal
Birkdale.
If you are visiting the area to connect with family and friends or for a special event, Edge Hill University is only 5 minutes away by car or a 20 minutes walk. The West Tower wedding venue is is 3 miles away and less than 10 minutes by car or taxi.
If coming by car there is a small free car park directly opposite. If this is full there is also plenty of on road parking and numerous short and long stay car parks in Ormskirk. Ormskirk Train Station is a 5-10 minutes walk away.
