When you stay at Helena’s, she is not only your host, she goes above and beyond connecting you with her local network (water taxi drivers, tour guides, surf instructors, restaurant owners….) and makes herself readily available to answer your questions. The open concept to her home was a dream. Helena had extraordinary vision when designing it. Falling sleep to the sound of the waves and nature, being able to jump off her dock for a swim or a float on a noodle made it easy to cool off on hot days. Her central location and setup made it easy to flag down a water taxi to get around, there is so much do to in the vicinity. The home remains private due to the beautiful greenery between her house and the water. I do recommend asking Helena what days to expect music on the island across the water and to be prepared for those nights if you are a light sleeper like me. I highly recommend staying at Helena’s. It was exactly the unique Island experience we were looking for.

We enjoyed staying at Helena's place. Great location on Bastimentos with dock that you can snorkeling from. She was very responsive and helpful, made great suggestions for activity and even set up reservations for us. Her place is a rustic off grid solar house which is common on the islands around Bocas. Very private and met our needs. Highly recommend.

Helena’s Unterkunft ist atemberaubend schön. Stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, gut mit den Wasser-Taxis zu erreichen und doch mitten in der Natur mit pfeilgiftfröschen, Kolibris, Nachtaffen und allem möglichen Tieren auf dem Grundstück. Hinzu kommt Helena als absolut fantastische Gastgeberin, die alles und jeden im Archipel persönlich kennt und ihr Wissen gerne und freundlich teilt. Wer die absolute Ruhe sucht sollte jedoch wissen, dass im gegenüberliegenden old Bank jeden Tag Musik von früh bis spät läuft. Des Weiteren muss einem bewusst sein, dass es ein komplett Selbstversorger Haus ist, heißt wenn die Sonne mal 2-3 Tage nicht scheint wird es eng mit dem Strom;)
