I feel bad writing this, but people should know what they’re getting into. Despite it not having snowed in a week-the house and driveway were all under 3ft+ of snow. Most homes in the neighborhood had been cleared but not this one. We arrived late and had to find alternate accommodations for the first night as we were unable to get our children and our belongings in the house. The owner did nothing to help us, but told us where a shovel was the next day. We spent over 2 hours shoveling a path to get our stuff in. The hot tub was green and stinky. When we texted the host, they did nothing. There were lots of smaller issues including an empty bed frame in the master and dirty towels in the washer, but the worst is that there are no hand railings on the top part of the stairs and I took a pretty decent fall. Overall, it felt like the place got the “landlord’s special”. They just cared about making a quick buck and not at all about the guests or their (bad) experience.

Great location at the top of a hill with relative privacy, and stunning views. Home is furnished nicely and everything was easy to use and accommodate my group of 5 people. Access was challenging due to winter weather conditions that effected the entire mountain community - nothing to do with the Airbnb host. AWD vehicle was key to accessing the final road within the neighborhood - also many downed tree branches due to heavy snow. A Tacoma pick up truck and a Prius were unable to make it to the house due to snow conditions and had to be parked a few blocks away at the lake area below. Overall my group and I had a wonderful time and are grateful for the experience. Jacuzzi was great, access to Snow Valley ski resort was quick and easy, and the diner just down the hill is a fun stopover in the morning. I would recommend this location to others in summer and winter, however come prepared for potential heavy winter conditions (snow shovel, chains, tire snow socks, etc.)

Super gorgeous, we went just after Christmas and caught some snow the second day! Absolutely out of a picturesque Christmas card, super cute town nearby! We walked to breakfast a few times and hiked around the back yard.

Don’t book with this host. They double booked us and left us stranded in the middle of the mountains at night with no place to go. They didn’t even have the decency to cancel our reservation before we got out there to avoid them having to pay fines. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had and will never book with Airbnb again. This ruined our Christmas vacation and they didn’t even offer a resolution.

Walter was a fantastic, responsive, and welcoming host, and the house itself is a gem! If you want a cozy cabin, great views, lots of privacy, and top notch amenities, all without the hustle and bustle typical of Big Bear Lake, look no further! We will be returning as soon as we can!
