This charming Grade II listed cottage is in the heart of Sherborne and offers parking PLUS ALL DAY flexible checkin/checkout to make the most of your day! The home is newly decorated and offers 3 bedrooms, one with ensuite, and a main family bathroom. The home has a well stocked kitchen, a main reception room with dining table and a front "snug". There is a utility room with washing machine/dryer. Outside is a lovely garden and parking space for 2 large cars. Electric car charger available. The house has three bedrooms - two with king sized beds and one with two single beds. One of the king sized bedrooms has an ensuite. On the ground floor is a utility room, downstairs toilet, kitchen, and two reception rooms. On the first floor, is three bedrooms (one with ensuite) and a family bathroom. Outside is a parking area for two cars, small garden laid with grass and two paito areas - one with BBQ and outdoor table/chairs. Because of the many level changes and steps both inside and out, it is not suitable for someone who needs mobility aids. One well behaved dog welcome.
An excellent property in a very convenient location. Spacious rooms with lots of mod cons, attractively decorated. Heating, hot water and wi-fi all worked well.
Downside Cottage was way beyond our expectations. Probably the most well equipped Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The cottage was perfect for our needs and very spacious . Theresa was very helpful in every way and responded to all our questions promptly. This is a great advantage especially if one isn’t familiar with the countries trash, recycling etc. Hopefully we will be staying there again soon in summer to utilize the garden and barbecue. We felt very at home during our 2 week stay and cooked some delicious meals on their fabulous gas stove. The cottage had the charm of quaint country but all the modern conveniences that are used to. Lovely well equipped period property with lots of space and great location. Has been renovated to a high standard. Convenient parking was great. Brilliant base for exploring the pretty town, amazing abbey and lots of independent shops.
This is a beautiful cottage, tastefully renovated and decorated and well equipped. Excellent location and good places to eat close by in easy walking distance. Theresa was very responsive and friendly. We had a hiccup to which she responded as quickly as possible and all should be well for future guests. It is a beautiful place to stay and the outside area will be lovely in the summer.
Sherborne is without doubt one of the most beautiful towns in England. The charming, honey-coloured town is brimming with history and heritage. With its abundance of medieval buildings, superb Abbey, picturesque Almshouse and two Castles, Sherborne has much to offer visitors.
It still retains small and specialist businesses and has a delightful collection of high street shops. It has also become an important town in the region for Art and Antique Dealers.
Sherborne has a range of lovely cafe's and restaurants, several bakeries, delicatessens and local butcher.
Thursday and Saturday see a market on the high street. On the third Friday of the month, Sherborne Farmers Market sets out on average 30 stalls with produced sourced from within a 30 mile radius of Sherborne. The annual Sherborne Festive Shopping Day in early December is always popular with locals and visitors.
The prestigious Sherborne School also hosts music events and recitals at their Music School throughout the year. In August, their annual Summer School of Music has around 30 daily concerts.
There's plenty to see and do during your visit, from attractions to suit all to a calendar of vibrant events and local markets.
The property offers parking space for 2 large cars (or 3 small ones) off a quiet road at the back of the house with one electric car charging station.
The front door of the property enables easy access by foot to the high street and town.
Sherborne is ideally located on the Dorset and Somerset border and has excellent transport links. The property is a short 13 minute walk from the train station.
