Oakwood Nature Retreat nestles among forest acres frequented by wildlife. This handcrafted timber home accommodates eight persons comfortably, with options for others. Modern rustic luxury welcomes families with infants, children & pets, but is suited equally for that couple's romantic getaway or an outdoorsy group base camp. Sink-in-and-sigh furnishings are the perfect end to a day of winter sports, watersports, or trail activities. If you love the great outdoors, area activities are endless. Oakwood sits on 4 acres of wooded property. Frequented by wildlife of all kinds. The home is less than a mile from two Cheat River put ins and quite close to multiple other water trails. It's an short drive to Ottercreek Wilderness as well as Black Water Falls, Cannon Valley, and Timberline.

This home is a beautiful handcrafted gem in the middle of the peaceful woods❣️ The home is clean and comfortable with loads of thoughtful details that make this place extra special! Emily and her husband have gone above and beyond to make their guests feel right at home and although there’s lots to do near by we chose to stay and just relax and enjoy!! I can’t wait to go back and stay 💛💙
Emily was an amazing host! Extremely responsive and friendly. The house is just stunning and had everything we needed and more. Perfect for families with small children but would be a great getaway for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the woods. Highly recommend this one. Thank you, Emily!

This was a place where you walk in and you see and feel the pride of ownership, beyond top notch with everything. it is catered toward families with young children and babies and also your pups. I have never seen anything like this home with how meticulous it has been kept and cared for. You can walk in and just relax, as everything you could possibly need is there, with labels on drawers, every cooking gadget you could want and plush everything! If you have your pups with you there are bowls, beds, towels if they get dirty from having fun and even treats. There is info. on things to do and the area as soon as you walk in and Emily goes out of her way (even if she is at work!) to get back to you quickly and make sure you have the information you need to make your stay the best time ever and make you feel welcome and at home. I can truly and honestly say this home and host are beyond the top notch 5 star rating and would rate them so much higher than a 5 in every way, shape and form!
Our stay in Parsons was amazing. The home was inviting and warm and so charming. The property was private and gorgeous both on our rainy and sunny days. Emily has thought of everything to make you feel right at home and you can tell how proud she is of her family's legacy. If you get the chance to visit, you will not regret it.

Holly Meadows Mountain View Estates Rd winds up the mountain and enters a light-dappled forest where deer and fox have been spied. At the top of the hill a beam carved sign will be at your right. A dirt lane meanders through a wooded lot to the glint of blue siding peeking through the trees. Though the acreage feels secluded, had you kept straight instead of turning into our lot, you would soon pass more openly cleared home sites, typical of a country WV middleclass subdivision. At the very top of the mountain, where the subdivision ends, there is no exit except to return back down the hill.
Three items of Note:
If weather is icy or snowy, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is a MUST to safely enter Holly Meadows Mountain View Estates Rd.
Parson's town 25mph speed limit is heavily monitored.
A neighbor is not as dog friendly as we are. Please keep your dog ON LOT via leash, tie out, or radio collar when outside.

We spent years building our dream home close to all the activities Monongahela Nat'l Forest provides, but family responsibilities require that we move out of state. We would like to share the experience of our WV handcrafted timber frame retreat with you. We've taken great care to offer comfort to you, whom we consider our personal guests.
