Come relax and unwind. Robert and I are delighted to welcome to our home, which is built within a 45 acre site, of which 38 acres is a forest farm. We have many trees, mostly native species, both mature and young. The house is two story and we offer the upper floor to our guests with their own private entrance. The upstairs living space consists of a kitchenette, a large livingroom/eating /working/ area and two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a King double bed and bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds. There is 1 bathroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin. The kitchenette is equiped with undercounter fridge, sink, kettle, toaster, microwave, double airfryer and a single hot plate for cooking. The living space has a door to make it fully separate from the kitchenette space. Robert and I like our guests to feel well cared for and always offer a welcome basket with some basic food necessities and a few local treats. We also supply high quality cotton bedlinen and towels as well as bio-organic soaps, shampoo, toothpastes etc. Our waste system is an Integrated Wetland and we do not use any harsh chemicals, but natural cleaning and disinfecting agents that leave the house clean, fresh and germ free. We ask our guests to please use our natural, bio-degradable products during their stay with us. We aim, over time, to be as self-sufficient as we can be, while leaving as small a footprint as possible on the land and we invite our guests to join us in this endeavour. At present all our water is rainwater harvested, fully filtered and potable. We use it for drinking, cooking, bathing etc. We harvest electricity through our photovoltaic panels and where possible store the excess to heat water and for other electricity requirements. Our property is completely private and not overlooked by anyone. We are accessed by a little used public road that becomes a right-of-way. We are at the end of this 1.6km (1 mile) road. We regret that, due to the flammability hazard of our forestry, we do not allow smoking anywhere on our property. We also do not allow vaping anywhere indoors.
