Our lovely bach at Pataua North is shared by three families with kids. It is simply a really special spot to relax and unwind. The bach directly accesses the estuary right out the front door and 2 mins away is the the east coast beach which is great for surfing. There is a lovely small neighbourhood of locals and holiday home owners here and so easy to explore on foot or bike. We often daily walk down the main road to the lookout steps and come back along the beach. It’s a small and friendly community where kids often ride bikes and scooter around. Walking towards the boat ramp the path follows around to the bridge and across this you can walk road or beach side along to Treasure Island Camp site at the very opposite end of the estuary behind the big hedges. This has a basic shop and fish n chips during peak seasons. There is also another beach called Frogtown next to the camp site. Fishing is popular from the bridge at night, as is jumping during the day which can get pretty busy over the summer holidays. Back up the main road towards town is Tahi café which is excellent for food and doing public walks over their land here. Best honey you can buy too. It's always an easy, perfect kiwi holiday anytime of the year.
