The apartment is in Prinsted, a beautiful village on the shores of Chichester Harbour. This is a great place for keen walkers, bird watchers and watersports enthusiasts, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Prinsted itself is an exceptionally pretty village and there are a few cafes in the nearby marinas of Thornham and Emsworth. Emsworth is a delightful town, well worth a visit with its many small shops and cafes, as well as a lovely walk around the Emsworth Pond. Right outside the property is Prinsted public slipway where you can launch kayaks, paddle boards and small boats.
There are some lovely walks around the harbour down and you can walk to the Chidham peninsular, where there are stunning views of the picturesque and historical village of Bosham (but without the crowds!) which is famous for where King Canute tried to hold back the tide and also features in the Bayeux Tapestry! Bosham is well worth a visit, and it is a lovely long walk around the coastal path where you can soak in the views of the harbour and the Downs and finish off with an ice cream when you reach Bosham!
The Roman town of Chichester is 7 miles east of Prinsted and its pedestrian centre is home to boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries and The Chichester Cathedral with its unique separate bell tower. Bird watchers might spot the Peregrine Falcons nesting in the tower.
West Wittering beach is a beautiful, sandy, blue flag beach and is in a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is largely undeveloped retaining its natural beauty and there is plenty of parking. It is perfect for walkers, swimmers, paddle boards and kite surfers.
The Trundle is the highest point on the South Downs Way, part of the South Downs National Park, with spectacular views across Chichester Harbour and is part of the famous Goodwood Estate.
West Dean Gardens on the Midhurst Road is one of the greatest restored gardens open to the public in England - wander around the grand pergola or enjoy a walk through the historic Arboretum.
The Weald & Downland Living Museum, next door to West Dean Gardens showcases historic buildings, rebuilt brick by brick and set in beautiful downland countryside.
There is so much to see and do around this area, a car is advisable, however, there are buses from the main road and a train station in Southbourne, with trains to Chichester or Portsmouth.
