Room was very clean and comfortable. Host and Manager were very friendly and attentive. Food in the restaurant downstairs was excellent and very reasonably priced. The rooms are upstairs and there are numerous steps to access them. Room 1 faces a busy street and there was quite a bit of street noise. There are rooms away from the street that would not be a noisy. Host offered us the option of moving to another room. There is a room set up with a coffee maker, small ice machine, refridgerator and several comfortable chairs. Room 1 did not have any chairs except for a small bistro table and chair. Overall we had a good experience. If you are looking for a very clean, comfortable no frills place to stay at a very reasonable price, you will like Miner's Lodge

I chose this location because it was close to a project I was working on. I knew the building was older.. This is not a high class accommodation and is fairly basic, but adequate. The bathroom has been recently remodeled and has great water pressure and steamy hot. The restaurant downstairs does serve a great breakfast (I got a local favorite, the "Mess" which consisted of potatoes, cheese, ham sausage etc...quite good). I did eat dinner several times and tried the Indian food. The fish curry was tasty, but not sure how fresh the fish was. Samosas were good and the two sauces that came with them were delicious. The rice however was dry. Apparently it is cooked well in advance and microwaved to serve. Not really enjoyable. The second night I had the a chicken dish which was very dry and tasteless....had to send it back and get the Rueben, which was quite good. So the food there is hit and miss...I would eat there...maybe stay again. The staff is great but owner's are absentee.

This is a really cool old building with a lot of character and they’ve really done a nice job remodeling for comfort when you want to stay in this area. I would especially recommend to people who like places that are intriguing and unique. A good stay for me.

Really beautiful rooms and super clean which is most important to me. They went out of the way to make stay as comfortable as possible. The washing machine and dryer was a added in bonus!!
