Most people drive here then park and walk within the community. You can easily come by train too. If you take the train use the New London or Old Saybrook stations. Amtrack train is faster. Or from NYC you can save money and take the public Metro North train connecting to the Shoreline East train in New Haven, if you pick the right train it will wait on the tracks across the platform for an instantaneous guaranteed connection. Uber from old Saybrook station or New London to the house for about $15-22, 13-18 minute ride to property. There is also a town bus stop .3 miles away from the house (Go0gle "9 town transit" for more information) for $1.75 from either Old Saybrook or New London train station. If you don't want to walk .3 miles, the bus will stop at the house if you call them at least one day in advance to schedule it for an additional approximately $1.50 per person. Also directly across from the New London train station is a ferry terminal. Year round car ferry to North Fork/Hampton's, Long Island. You can drive to Orient Point from NYC then take reasonably priced car ferry to New London (Fun to do a loop: NYC to Orient Point, ferry to New London, back to NYC via I-95/historic Merit Parkway) Seasonal ferries to Block Island make great day trips too! You can even connect on Block Island and go onward to Newport RI.
