It’s quite simply a beautiful place to be. Water views to the front - from the terrace, the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms. Fields to the rear. As the hours pass and the tides change, so does the wildlife. It’s just mesmerising. We spent a week, as a family - 3 siblings and our mum. The 4 bedrooms are all a great size, really comfortable beds, good linen. The living areas are spacious and well equipped. The covered terrace is just the best place - even when the weather takes a turn and that’s where we spent most of our time, watching the waters change and the birds fly and feed. Thank you Mark, for all your great communication and for this stunning home. It was everything.

We’ve just spent the most fantastic week at Ancarva. A gorgeous, spacious and welcoming home, in a stunning setting. Beautifully quiet, yet a close drive to the quaint beach villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and the headland of Mount Edgecumbe Country Park. The house had everything we could ask for (in our case - from a 7 year old to an 80 year old). The kids were occupied for hours crab-fishing on the house’s pontoon and at low-tide we could walk around to the local village. We hadn’t visited this part of Cornwall before (originally thinking it might be too close to Plymouth, but it honestly felt as remote and as beautiful as other areas). We took 2 bigger excursions to the Eden Project and Looe and both were easily accessible from the house. Mark and Kim are wonderful hosts.

Awesome and beyond! What a stunning place to stay. A beautifully designed house and garden. If anything the photos don’t do it justice. Every bedroom has a waterside view, so no arguments on who gets the best room!). The kitchen is equipped with everything you could wish for: top quality fridges, ovens etc (I’m suffering from dishwasher envy), picnic blankets, you name it. Surrounded by fields at the back and water at the front this is a beautiful secluded spot. But civilisation and shops are just a few minutes’ away, as well as the stunning Cornish coast. There are so many places to see in the vicinity, I can’t wait to return to this unspoilt little corner of Cornwall. Mark is incredibly helpful and answered any query I may have had. You even get a YouTube clip to show you how to work the sliding doors!

What a fab house to base our staycation holiday! A constantly changing, but tranquil view of the tidal water - mesmerising! Day trips to beaches, towns/villages and Eden Project all within east reach. Lovely walks from the house to be had - especially round the water to Mount Edgecombe House and Park, suggest via or back through The Canteen at Maker Heights for brunch or lunch as well! Might be an idea to pre-book a supermarket delivery, but most essentials available at local village shops. Lovely modern architect designed house if that’s your thing - certainly was ours!!
