Tahaja is a tranquil getaway in the fields just 20 minutes’ walk from Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The space was designed in traditional Newar style by the architect and scholar Niels Gutschow. It is ideal for families, remote work, retreats, travelers and bird-watchers. Home-made dinner and breakfast are included in the booking. The Frankfurt Tower is accessed via a bridge which links it with the common areas: an old farmhouse, arcade and terrace with great views. Its patio opens up to the garden. The two-story Tahaja Frankfurt Tower features stunning brick detailing and red columns. It was built by architects from Frankfurt, Germany, in collaboration with Newar artisans. The building includes one cosy bedroom on the upper floor and an open living space on the ground floor which opens up to the patio and garden. The shared bathroom is accessed via a small bridge. While the bedroom is small, guest also have access to Tahaja's old farmhouse with a big living space/reading nook, plenty of books and the kitchen/dining area as well as our arcade with outdoor dining, terrace and garden. Guests staying at Tahaja usually spend most of their time enjoying the beautiful outdoors and open spaces. Capacity: Up to 2 guests. The two single mattresses can be joined to make a double bed.
Vielen Dank- macht bitte weiter so!
Tahaja is located in the fields beyond Bhaktapur, where Newar farmers have been farming rice and vegetables for centuries. While the city is expanding and new settlements have come up nearby, the fields around Tahaja are still being farmed and are a great place to go for a walk or watch the sunset.
Tahaja is only accessible on foot. The nearest road is about 5 minutes' walk on a small path through the fields. Parking is available on the roadside.
Bhaktapur old town is about 15 minutes' walk away and the famous Durbar Square in Bhaktapur can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes.
自我介绍
I am an editor/researcher and a mother living in Kathmandu, Nepal, since 2011. I co-host Tahaja, a beautiful getaway on a small hill just outside the ancient city of Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley. I love spending time in nature, trekking, traveling, yoga, reading and appreciating art, architecture and design.
