My first experience with off grid living and I must say that I have been spoiled by the availability of modern conveniences. A 2 min shower is not for me. The sunrises and sets were beautiful and we enjoyed cooking outside and eating our evening meal on the patio. Road maintenance close to the house is needed due to dirt wash-out ruts. Wi-Fi was excellent and house temperature in April was fine. The frig and freezer was large enough to handle our cooler items.

If you make the effort to read the description provided and have the mindset of being truly off-grid with the benefit of solar power, this is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. We had the pleasure of meeting Jamie on our check in and got to hear a bit about his experience regarding the genesis of this place (and the other one over the hill) which made our stay way more enjoyable. It was easy to understand his passion about the house and his forward thinking about it all in such a wild and beautiful land. You can read the other reviews about the greatness of the night sky but I have to say that this was the greatest stay of our time in the region. Kudos to Jamie and thank you so much for letting us share your passion in the form of a wildly progressive shelter in an even more wild landscape. Will definitely be back for an even longer time if available. 5 stars isn't relevant when there are a billion above it.

Absolutely loved this place. It is definitely a different experience, and very interesting on how the entire house works. The area is extremely peaceful. My family's favorite thing was sitting out at night start gazing.
