We absolutely loved staying in the Patan area and at Sam’s lovely Airbnb. We had the studio on the 4th floor and it was very clean and cozy. We stayed ten days in total. Sam was always responsive and the staff was so friendly and kind. They even let us store our bags until we come back from Pokhara. Highly recommend the neighborhood as it’s more local than the touristy Thamel. There are also some great restaurants and cafes, and a gym within a 8 minute walk. Also: we stayed in April but didn’t even need the fan. It was always very pleasant and comfortable inside the building.

The apartment is in the Patan neighborhood. Patan Durbar Square is within walking distance from the apartment. It is such a quiet, clean and well-furnished apartment suitable for short stays. Sam, the host, has been very helpful throughout our trip. He even helped to book the car( and bargained for better price) with big trunk to airport when I asked for his help the last minute. Everything here made our trip a memorable one. Definitely would like to come back again.

It’s an excellent location in Patan - a few moments walk from the Durbar Square. Small stores for food nearby. Patan has a nice vibe. Our room (104) was fine for the two of us. Small refrigerator, microwave, gas cooktop (gas tank on the balcony), washing machine (balcony), clothes drying line (balcony or roof terrace) comfortable bed, lockable drawer. Whole building is also locked. We stayed for a week and were happy. Finding the place can be a trifle difficult. The best way to describe it is 1) Get to the Newa Chen hotel, which is well known, and 2) Sort of opposite the Newa Chen’s entrance door (across a small square, behind the shrine) is a small walkway into a courtyard. Go into that courtyard and turn right. The building with the Dwell Casa sign is the place. 3) Get the phone number of the place and have your taxi driver call it if you have trouble.

Samartha was an amazing host for our stay. He was super responsive and quickly answered any questions that I had. The location was incredible. Despite being near the Patan Darbar Square, it was quiet and peaceful. You might hear the morning temple bells and chickens once in a while but it is all part of the experience in Patan. There are many little grocery stalls nearby, or you can visit Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket (15 mins walk) for a bigger selection of fruits, grains and meats. You can also visit a nice gym called Energym (10 mins walk) for a quick workout. It cost 200 rupees per visit. For a cool experience, make sure to visit the Golden Temple at 5 am to see the morning prayer. I would highly recommend Samartha's place and would stay the next time that I am in Nepal!
