Pros: Best views in the area/valley by a long shot. The host was attentive, responsive, and accommodating. A few examples: 1) He was in the process of laying a gravel road that led up to the AirBNB and it didn't get finished due to equipment failure. He informed me of the situation and finished the road as soon as the equipment was fixed. 2) I implied that a grill would be nice to have as it was the start of Fall and perfect weather to be outside cooking while soaking up the views. He happened to have an extra grill on storage and had it delivered promptly. 3) During my stay, there happened to be a very rare amount of rainfall over the course of a few days (probably pretty close to the average rainfall expected for the entire year). The soil in the area is pretty much red clay. I couldn't walk to/from my car when it was wet without a pound of clay being stuck to my foot. I told the host and the next dry day, he had wood chips delivered and spread to the front door to create a walk way. Cons: I rented for an entire month, so my needs were probably a little more demanding than the average week-long or weekend guest. That said, the nightly rate when I booked was $95 per night and I received a 30% discount for a 1 month stay, which put me at $66.5 per night or a little over $2,000 for the month after fees, etc. The place has a lot of potential but the finish work inside the cabin was just kind of slapped together and cheaply done - walls appeared to be a combination of plywood, concrete backer board, and thin drywall (I didn't look too closely so I may not be entirely accurate). Furring strips were on one side of the room only, running from floor to ceiling to hide the plywood/wall seams (no mud was used to hide the seams and make it look flush). Some of the wall studs were still exposed (entry way coat hanging area), pressured water lines to the toilet were exposed (pex lines running from the sink to the toilet along the baseboards), the shower enclosure was definitely made for RVs/trailers (very flimsy/cheap quality), and the place was halfway painted at the time of my stay. The bed wasn't comfortable and the sheets/comforter were outdated and a little on the scratchy side. In terms of cleanliness, it was clean enough and I cleaned anything I didn't trust but I didn't use the coffee pot once because when I flipped the water lid open, it looked like it was caked in muck from years of use and/or storage (In defense of the host, I didn't mention this as coffee isn't something I drink daily but I'm sure he would have replaced immediately had I brought it to his attention. Furthermore, to add some charm to our stay, my 7 year old daughter and I lined the wood-chip walkway with large stones ourselves, which made a world of difference to the "homey" feel anytime we were hanging out outside. Conclusion: Incredible views, great host, and the place has a lot of potential. I'd think $2-5k invested in finish work, decor, and maybe some outdoor lighting/sitting area would make this a $95 per night stay without question. However, as it sit when I rented, as much as I enjoyed the stay, I personally just don't think it's worth the price tag. I'm a local and my family lives out of town, so I'm fairly familiar with AirBNB options in the area and have been inside many of them. There are other AirBNBs in the area that offer much more bang for buck - and most have (almost) as beautiful of a few as this house. The difference being that the others I've been in were built properly, the interior was finished with better quality materials, and the others felt more comfortable/cozy as they put some time, money, and energy into quality bedding and decorations. Sidebar: I learned that this is also a hunting lodge/long(er)-term farm rental where you can use 10 acres or so to grow and harvest. I'm a hunter and I've stayed in quite a few "bachelor pad" lodges. Compared to every other hunting lodge I've stayed in, this one would be top 5 of my list in terms of comfort. As for the long-term farming use, that seems like it'd have a bit more to offer in terms of value. It's all relative but at $95 per night without hunting or farming, I'd expect better quality and a more comfortable feel all around.

Lovely, we’ll-equipped cabin with beautiful Mountain Views surrounded by peaceful and quaint Colorado mountain towns. Easy driving to restaurants, local cultural events, and hiking.
