Within easy reach of The Norfolk Broads and the Suffolk Heritage coast, Wainwright is situated on a working farm on the beautiful Somerleyton Estate. The carriage is backed by woodland and in complete privacy, a great place to sit and have a drink watching the sun set with all the deer, rabbits, ducks and pheasants coming and going. The carriage was originally used to transport fruit, but it has been lovingly restored and converted to provide luxury accommodation. The modern finish combined with the rustic flare of the original flooring and roof arches, make it a functional yet fun place to spend time away. Inside the hut there is a king-size bed at one end, with a retractable table seating two on benches. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, induction hob and microwave - everything you need for cooking up a storm after a day exploring. In the chillier months, why not snuggle down with a good book, cup of tea and light the wood burning stove? Through the door on the right hand side of the carriage is an en-suite. This has a shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC. To the front of the carriage there is a wood-fired hot tub with view out across the Suffolk countryside. There is a stoned patio area with a table and chairs along with a barbecue. Additional Information: Two well behaved dogs welcome, for a small additional charge. Sorry, no children apart from infants under the age of two years. Wood-fired hot tub available for small additional charge of £80 per stay.
There is so much to do on your doorstep when staying in Wainwright. There are a vast network of footpaths from the carriage, along with cycle routes. You can walk to The Village Maid or the Mardle Cafe in the local village of Lound, or alternatively The Duke's Head in Somerleyton and The Plough at Blundeston are both great village pubs within walking distance. on the edge of Norfolk Broads National Park, and the coast is just a short drive or bike ride away.
Wainwright is on a working farm on the Somerleyton Estate. There is a wide range of things to do including walking the extensive gardens or booking in to some of the events that are held there throughout the year.
Ideally located between Norfolk Broads National Park, and the coast, both just a short drive or bike ride away. If you love nature and seeing local wildlife, the Nature Reserves of Hickling and Southwold are great places to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
A short drive away are the unspoilt market towns of Bungay, with its historic castle remains and Beccles, with its market square and winding streets nestled by the River Waveney, which makes it a gateway to the Broads, where you can hire boats for an excellent day out. In both towns you'll find quirky independent shops, restaurants, cafes and delis as well as a host of community events, festivals and entertainment held throughout the year.
Just down the road is the river backed village of St. Olaves, where boat hire is also available for you to enjoy the broads from the water. The Bell Inn has a fantastic garden on the edge of the river and is a great place to unwind after a day's exploring. There are also great canoe and paddle board hiring facilities straight on to the River Waveney at either Three Rivers, Geldeston or Outney Meadow, Bungay.
