We rented the inn for our out of town friends and us to stay the weekend. We originally thought it was still a bed and breakfast but when we met with Shawn and Bill we found otherwise. That was not a big deal as there are many incredible place to eat with walking distance including Maxine's, The Store House and many others.

It was a great place for our family Christmas, plenty of room & everything we needed was available. Hosts were very accommodating. Loved being “back in time “ I will definitely recommend this Inn. The only complaint we had was the loud, constant traffic noise but totally understand the hosts have no control over this.

Can't say enough good about the Pecan Street Inn. Rented it for myself and my extended family while in Bastrop to attend a wedding and it was the only place we could find big enough to host 11 people. Absolutely no regrets except for the fact that we couldn't stay longer. The inn is in the middle of Bastrop and accessible to everything, whether on foot or by car. The owners, Shawn and Bill were friendly, welcoming, flexible, and excellent communicators - no complaints about their skills as host! They live close by and were quick to respond to all text messages/questions. Finally, the home itself is old, creaky, charming and a wonderful place for young and old family members alike. The floors squeak, the decor ranges anywhere from 1920's to 1990's period appropriate, there are tons of books, games, movies, toiletries and appliances for the guests to use, and it's very comfortable. If you're expecting top of the line, shiny and modern accommodations, this is not the place for you. As the owner, Shawn, told me: "Everything's old, but it works!" (Note: it really does - we had no issues with plumbing, hot water, cooking, electricity, etc.) Every family member that stayed there that weekend was excited and pleased with the home. My parents loved the nostalgic aspect of the decor and the period charm, while my young nieces and nephew were thrilled to stay in an "old-timey mansion" and spent most of their time trying to stay awake looking for ghosts. All in all, a great time - we're so grateful to Shawn and Bill for the chance to have stayed here.

We rented the entire Inn while in town for a family event. It was the perfect place for all of us to be together. We housed multiple generations and were able to spend quality time together without being in a hotel. Shawn and Bill were great and so kind. They made it a very pleasant stay. Would highly recommend staying with them if you have the chance.
