Beautiful home with lots of living space and everything you need. Comfortable beds, heavenly bath (!) and secure parking. Excellent WiFi as well. Great base for Beamish.

Overall the place is mostly as described and pretty inexpensive but uncomfortable beds and questionable cleanliness would prevent me returning. The property is spacious and great for groups. Although on a main road and directly across from a pretty rough looking pub / club we weren't disturbed. Secure off-street parking is great, though a few minutes walk from the front door. The public spaces were good. Sofa huge & comfy; photos tell you all you need to know. Kitchen amenities were good. Having the table in the cupboard is a good idea to save space. Downsides: beds were very uncomfortable and bedding did not feel crisp / fresh, but felt slept in. Niece found some makeup marks on pillow on final morning. Dealbreaker for me! Bathroom downstairs has no lock (!) which feels weird. Asked owner about loo roll and got aggressive / defensive reply that "it's self catering, so not included" despite listing saying otherwise. Never not had loo roll included!

We booked this for 9 people for a family wedding in the local area. The price was extremely competitive, so none of our party had any issues with the cost. There were just a couple of niggles which I feel should be mentioned, the first being that for the number of people staying we found that the one & only shower wasn't adequate for the number of people staying & the other bathroom had no lock(already mentioned to the host)....this caused a few unfortunate problems!! Was told by it had been removed due to safety problems with children, however I believe that this could be sorted by placing a chrome sliding type lock higher up on the door which would then alleviate this problem. All in all for the amount paid for the accommodation we found it to be adequate for our needs as most of the time was spent at the wedding venue

Absolutely cracking place. Cindy couldn’t have been more helpful. 5 great bedrooms and a lounge with its own secure parking. You’ve got Chippie, Chinese X 2, Pizza, Kebab and Indian all seconds away. There’s secure, and I mean secure as it’s got own roller shutter, parking at the rear. Couldn’t fault the place at all and very warm heating. Throughly recommended.
