Relax in clean, comfortable, and stylish rooms with a “Harlem Vibe” at The Renaissance Retreat. The “Langston Hughes Room” features Panoramic views of Malcolm X. Blvd. from your comfortable third floor room. Guests are steps away from historic 125th street and other popular tourist attractions and entertainment destinations. Restaurants, groceries, transportation, free street and garage parking, parks, laundry and other conveniences abound (see our guidebook). Book now to reserve your space! There are two guest rooms; the "Hughes", where you will be staying, and the "Hurston", on the third floor of this classic New York brownstone. You will enjoy access to your own large, cozy, private room with a mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee prep area, study desk, Smart TV, Wi-Fi access, ample storage space and other amenities. Guests may share a bathroom that is also on the third floor if both rooms are occupied. This is a shoe-less house. Please bring indoor slippers or house shoes to wear inside the premises. There is also a friendly cat who wanders but will not enter your room unless invited. The house is cleaned regularly. We strive to provide a clean, comfortable, safe and a peaceful place for all guests and residents. Enjoying a pleasant Harlem experience during your stay is our ultimate goal. What a wonderful way to feel like a real New Yorker! Raymond's brownstone is right in the middle of Harlem, just two blocks from the subway, which makes it easy to get anywhere you want to be. It is quiet too -- you cannot hear your neighbors at all. Of course being in the city, you may have some street noise, but earplugs are perfectly sufficient for that. The space has lots of antique charm, which truly made it a joy to consider it my residence for a few days. And it was a pleasure meeting the two cats! They were both friendly, and the tuxedo cat was affectionate. This was a solo trip for me, and I would gladly stay here again on the next one!
Ray’s place was a great location for our visit to NYC. Close to the MTA. Great food locally. Super soft bed and great room for sleeping after a long day in the city! Ray was available when we needed him and gave us plenty of space otherwise. It was great to come back every night to his cat and get a good round of kitty snuggles in before bed!!!
L’annonce est fidèle à la description, proche du métro, vous y trouverez un Whole food market juste en face, pratique pour acheter des fruits et légumes, Raymond est une personne très accueillant, souriant et chaleureux, offrant de petites attentions (cafe, fruits ..). A votre disposition un mini frigo, micro onde, cafetière et serviette de bain Le seul point négatif est le bruit de la rue, d’ailleurs des bouchons d’oreilles sont à votre disposition Merci beaucoup pour votre accueil.
Staying with Raymond was an absolute joy. He was so responsive to any questions we had and helped us navigate from JFK to his house even though our flight didn’t get in till close to midnight. Raymond is kind, compassionate and his space is beautiful. It was so fun to explore Harlem and we felt like we were well cared for and had a fantastic trip. We’d recommend staying with Raymond to just about anyone.
Raymond was such an thoughtful and thorough host. The instructions made it super easy to check in as we had arrived late in the day. It was in a location that was easy to navigate and close to a lot of great restaurants. We felt right at home and really safe. I am looking forward to staying again soon!
