Great spot with amazing views!

The location can't be beat! These yurts are literally just before the Big Bend NP sign for the park entrance. We loved sitting outside enjoying the incredible views. From sunrise to the middle of the night, the sky and views are absolutely incredible. Having seen the other options in the area, I think The Local Chapter is the absolute best option in or near Big Bend. I know others have remarked on the lack of privacy while using the restroom, but if you know ahead of time, then it is totally fine. My husband and I made it work.

This place was amazing! We stayed in Yurt 5 and the view was incredible, the surroundings were natural and clean, and the stars are breathtaking. Inside the yurt is super nice, super comfortable bed, places to sit and relax, nice little bathroom with shower and sink. I can’t really say anything negative about this experience, except you don’t want to leave, super close to the park too. The town is small, don’t speed!!

The local chapter in Terlingua is an awesome stay. Very peaceful and the best views you could ask for while still being close to restaurants etc. It is a great retreat and as close as you can stay to Bend Bend without staying in the park.
