The Brooklyn Cottage is a lovely home beside a peaceful babbling stream. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing trip away from the city. Toasted bagels on the deck over the stream in the morning and wine in the evenings made everyday special. From linens to books to kitchenware, there was nothing lacking and the vintage dinnerware were a delight. Jenny is a helpful and gracious host. Highly recommend a stay at the Brooklyn Cottage. We are already looking forward to a return.
The Brooklyn Cottage was everything we'd hoped it would be...peaceful, relaxing, a place to just unplug & reset. The property is absolutely enchanting! The sound & beauty of the stream was our favorite part! Jenny was an excellent hostess! I only wish we could've met in person. She seems like such a cool person. Maybe when we stay again!
This cottage is a GEM. The decor and the location are perfect. The stream running behind it is definitely the highlight. The upstairs bedroom is very serene💙Jenny was a wonderful host. We will be back. Lots of great hikes within 30 minutes.
This cottage is an absolute treasure. The type of place that allows you to lose track of time and truly be in the moment. Magical ambiance, amazingly comfy bed, and a well appointed kitchen. Antiques and vintage touches in every room and a great book collection. All amenities were as listed and everything clean and fresh. The sound of rushing water, deep greens of hemlock boughs and moss were refreshing and allowed for total relaxation. We spent a full week and didn't want to leave. We'd love to visit again someday.
A fairy tale cottage--you will not want to leave! Jenny is a wonderful and responsive host. We feel so lucky to have found this place!

Twelve things I couldn't live without: my daughters, my books, my freedom, joy, travel, improvisation, new tastes, pen & paper, helpless laughter, stillness & gratitude. I'm a Montreal-born, Tokyo-raised former television and radio producer who truly considers the world my home--and is delighted that Brooklyn and New York’s Hudson Valley are my current base and launch pad. Since getting divorced a few years ago, and with my girls growing up, I've turned my Prospect Heights brownstone into a part-time arts salon. Once or twice a month, I'll host a storytelling evening, or a pop-up art show, or a festive cooking class, or a writing workshop, or a meditation gathering. All are welcome. It's been a joy. I'm a passionate believer and supporter of "the sharing economy," of which Airbnb plays an essential part. I barely ever use hotels any more--just feel the texture of traveling (and hosting) through Airbnb is made deeper, more idiosyncratic, and more fun when I can connect with real people on their own, or my, turf. When I was a growing up, my mother enjoyed telling her children that "strangers are friends we haven't met yet." I've come to find that this is mostly true. So here's to you, stranger--and the lovely possibility of our one day meeting.
