Relax with the family, or just by yourself, at this peaceful place to stay. Spectacular views of Loch Bay, towards the Outer Hebrides. Our traditional cottage offers all the amenities you might wish for, including a multi-fuel stove. It is an excellent location to explore Waternish & Skye. You will be within easy walking distance of the village of Stein, with the Michelin restaurant, Loch Bay. In the evening sit outside with a dram in your hand, and enjoy the stunning sunsets. And just relax.... The cottage comprises of a lounge and kitchen diner, with a large front window offering a wonderful vista of Loch Bay. The lounge has two sofas and a multi-fuel stove. Wifi is provided. The TV has a Sky entertainment package, which includes access to Netflix, etc. The kitchen has a dining table, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge with ice box, hob, oven, and a combi-oven. The double bedroom is at the front of the building with the views! The twin bedroom is at the back of the building with a view up the hill and the sheep and lambs. The shower room has a large walk-in shower. There is electric heating in all rooms. At the front of the building is a grassed garden with some seating and a picnic table. This area is not enclosed. Out of the back door is a small enclosed area with washing line. There are books, guide books and some board games and jigsaw puzzles available for your use.

Lovely little cottage with a beautiful view. Nice for a couple or very close friends/family.
A beautiful cottage! Worked great for us (4 adults and 2 retriever-sized dogs). Stunning views, lovely well-equipped kitchen (although you will need to bring oil etc), good shower, lovely communal space for us to relax after walks. Totally recommend Yurtea, The Stein Inn and Loch Bay restaurant. Anything else will be a drive to reach, but all worth it.
A lovely little house, clean and well laid out, no phone signal but WiFi was good. Teresa was a lovely and attentive host.

Waternish is in the north west of the Isle of Skye and is possibly a relatively hidden part of the island. It is a crofting community. The peninsula has dramatic sea scapes all round and in particular to the Outer Hebrides. It is renowned for having Skye's only Michelin starred restaurant, Loch Bay, which is within walking distance of the cottage. Within the village of Stein, is the island's oldest Inn. Also within walking distance are several craft shops and the 5 star visitor attraction of Skyeskyns, one of the last tanneries in Scotland and retail outlet, together with their Yurtea for coffee, tea and cakes.
The village of Stein also offers boat trips locally or further afield to St Kilda.
Locally there are some great walks, nothing too exhausting, where the chance of spotting something in the sky is high.
The peninsular offers three Dark Sky Observation sites where you can safely watch the dark sky. But in reality you can do this anywhere if outside lights are switched off.
The nearest public transport is 5 miles away and is very listed on Skye generally. There is ample parking space at the cottage.
