You won’t be disappointed in this property! The cottage sits on half an acre, and is on a small peninsula, which means there isn’t another cottage right beside you. There's a dock for enjoying the shoreline, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, hammocks, a patio with picnic table for outdoor dining, and a barbecue to cook those amazing outdoor meals! We recommend the property for families with children 6 years and up. There’s a large shoreline, which would make it hard to supervise younger children. Inside is everything you need to relax and enjoy yourselves. Large windows, vaulted ceilings and open concept make the cottage bright and spacious. The views of the lake and the sound of the waves are mesmerizing! Our kitchen has modern appliances and is well appointed for people (like me) who love to cook. The bedrooms are good sized and comfortable., with premium pillow and mattress casings for your piece of mind and comfort. Of course there’s complimentary wifi throughout, and a smart TV, but there's no cable or satellite dish. Don’t forget to bring your passwords to access your favourite streaming services. Even better than TV, why not enjoy some board games, books, or puzzles? We have lots of these. We know pets are an important part of everyone’s family! We're happy to welcome family dogs, but aren’t able to accept cats or other small pets due to my husband’s allergies. We do require you to use flea and tick prevention on your dogs, for their safety, and for the comfort of all our guests. We want to keep the cottage free of creepy crawlies! You may not want to leave the cottage, but if you do the Bruce Peninsula has so much to offer! The closest “town” is Pike Bay, a short 5 minute drive, 20 minute bike ride, or 60 minute walk. There’s a park where you can picnic and play. By-the-Bay General store has groceries, snacks, ice cream, an LCBO outlet, propane refills, fishing supplies, and a small restaurant. Wiarton and Lion's Head are both about 20 minutes away. Here you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. Both towns are on east side of the Bruce Peninsula on Georgian Bay, and boast beautiful waterfront parks. The famous tourist towns of Sauble Beach and Tobermory are 40 minutes away. Sauble is on the Lake Huron side of the peninsula. It has one of the largest and best sand beaches in Ontario. The shoreline is shallow and the water is warm, great for swimming, walking or sun bathing. The town has lots to offer- shopping, arcades, music, golf, restaurants of all types. Tobermory, at the top of the peninsula, has spectacular scenery. The Grotto, Flowerpot Island, Half Log Dump are stunning. There are glass bottom boat tours, kayak rentals, scuba diving, hiking at the national and provincial parks. Great little restaurants and stores as well!
