This was one of the best weeks we've had on our Costa Rican adventure. The "Finca" is just as described. Set on a canyon rim, and surrounded by an amazing collection of tropical fruit trees. We woke early each morning to the sounds of Toucans, flycatchers, trogans, warblers, vireos, kiskadees and dozens of others. We ate all kinds of fruit, some of which we'd never seen before, but mostly we just relaxed watching the birds and exploring the farm and surrounding area. Paul wasn't around but Danilo was an amazing help around the farm, patiently explaining the fruits and trees and everything about the finca. Since we didn't have our own car, Paul had recommended an Uber driver to us and Tony came to be a good friend as well as a huge help in getting us what we needed to replace a lost passport and showing a few, interesting towns nearby.

We loved Paul’s place! Very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views of the canyon. A short drive to Grecia. We loved the outdoor kitchen and hammock!

One of the best, if not the best airbnbs I've ever been to. Stunning views, cozy cabin and just great vibes. That being said, on 2 of my 3 days at the airbnb there were tourists + some locals that came onto the property without my knowledge, with one of them coming onto the porch of the cabin. They were friendly but super strange to have that happen. I was also slightly disappointed at the lack of fruit during my trip which Paul attributed to being in between seasons but I still got to munch on some starfruit, limes, and even some nopales. Working there was a breeze as the wi-fi is super fast and the whole experience was amazing being in nature. Taking showers while looking at the moon and walking the switchback trail to the waterfall epitomized the pura vida lifestyle and made me realize I should've stayed for a whole week, if not more. Paul and Janet were very responsive and helpful when any issues came up which I appreciated. I will be back!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Finca Madre. Janet and Paul were great hosts, very easy to communicate with and helpful. The location and the cabin were amazing, just what we needed. A quiet and serene oasis to get away from the busy world. Its rustic, maybe even basic, but just what we wanted and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an enchanting location.
