A lovely rural setting with amazing views, access to trails, chairs positioned to view the sunset, and close proximity to Decorah. Fully appointed kitchen. Well organized and pristine. Ryan goes out of his way to be welcoming — he even brought us fresh asparagus from his garden and morels he had foraged.

Beautiful property and outdoorsy decorated barn! Such a peaceful place to unwind with chickens hanging around for a fun added bonus. Ryan was a great host and very attentive to any needs! Would love to stay here again and definitely recommend!

Gorgeous farm with beautiful walkable trails for me and my dogs. Close to town yet quiet, peaceful country setting. Appreciated the farm fresh eggs. Charming host as well as his father. Will be my first choice in staying in the Decorah area. Highly recommend!!

We enjoyed everything about our stay. I hadn’t noticed the lack of Wi-Fi or TV in the list of amenities, but we were so busy outside enjoying the farm property, bird activity, bike trails, trout hatchery, walking trails, etc. that we really didn’t notice the lack (and actually appreciated) of these items. I agree with a previous guest’s review to bring slippers to wear inside for extra warmth and comfort. I will plan on bringing a couple of spare blankets to use as well as a folding chair or two to enjoy sitting outside. The place was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. We look forward to staying again very soon!

This is a special place, especially if you want to wind down and enjoy nature. The barn living area is very spacious, clean and well decorated with outdoorsman and nature decor. The kitchen is well equipped and spotless. A huge plus if you are traveling with active dogs or just like a peaceful hike, are the trails cut and maintained thru the property. It was so nice to allow the dogs to run the trails after a long day traveling. Although this place is out in the country it is just a few minutes to downtown Decorah. I would definitely recommend Lizzie and Ryan's place for a peaceful getaway.
