We loved this place. My kids have asked if we can stay every time we are in the area for soccer games. It was a very relaxing environment. We loved having the board games and yard games available when we had free time and the path by the river was a nice easy walk. Sarah was great at communicating before and during our stay.

Sarah was a great host. Super friendly, helpful and responsive. The cottage was cozy clean and quiet with enough updating to make it even more accommodating. Highly recommend this place and Sarah.

The friend group stayed in this place for a quick weekend away. It was even better that my two pups were allowed to stay with us! We enjoyed the cleanliness of the place, the layout, and size. There was a lot to explore on the lakebed. Of course, we stayed here during 90 degree and 90% humidity and this house does not have central air conditioning. I would NOT recommend staying here on hot days. The tiny window AC unit did a poor job of cooling and there were no portable fans available for use. The host was messaged to ask if there was anything she/we could do about being uncomfortable. She messaged back late at night basically saying no but not to worry that the house cools down at night. Sure, that’s understandable… but what about the rest of the day/evenings being hot and uncomfortable? None of us were really impressed with her disregard and unwillingness to help with the heat.

This cabin was very warm and inviting...and clean. There was no clutter of nick-nacks, making room for us to settle right in with some of our own belongings (on night stands, kitchen and bathroom counters, etc.). We loved the open layout indoors and the beautiful view out the slider. Neighbors are friendly. We took advantage of the grill and outdoor dinning table, as well as, the outdoor furniture and fire pit on the river side. A variety of indoor and outdoor games were available for all ages, as well as, other activities you could enjoy without leaving the cabin.

We had a great time exploring the area! We drove around Saginaw Bay over to Port Austin on Lake Huron. The home was clean and peaceful. We travel with our three dogs and they were right at home with the accomodations. Sarah is friendly and accepting of pets. Which is a blessing when traveling with them. I would recommend Sunset Bungalow for anyone looking for clean and peaceful home when traveling. We do plan on returning in the future to check the progress of rebuilding of Wixom Lake. Thank you Sarah for friendly interactions and information.
