Faultless accommodation. Exceptionally well equipped with high end products. Absolutely spotless. Would highly recommend.
The Nook is a superb place to stay. It manages to be both cosy and spacious. It’s extremely well equipped and maintained. It’s very visitor friendly. All our needs were catered for and more.
Wonderful home with a fireplace and underfloor heating, new appliances, games. Great walkable area, nearby attractions, beautiful views
We had a fabulous Easter weekend at the Nook. The cottage is beautifully decorated and it’s clear a lot of thought and care went into its design and maintence. The welcome pack and very sweet Easter decorations were a lovely touch. It is incredibly well equipped and has everything you could need, including a toddler step and toilet seat and toddler crockery, which was very handy for our 3 year old. I would recommend Trish and Paul’s place to anyone wanting to explore the area. It’s an ideal place for those with small children but equally a lovely spot for those without children. The cottage is very well situated for attractions such as Harlech Castle, Portmerion and Porthmadog. It is also a short walk on footpaths to the nearby Children Petting Farm and a few minutes drive down to a lovely sandy beach with cafe. Just ideal! Thanks to Trish and Paul. We hope to return again soon.
The perfect hosts and home. The house is a wonderful combination of cosy cottage and city slick - immaculately done with lots of thought gone into the little extras - a discreet baby gate at the top of the stairs, little labels on the light-switches, and Trish is super helpful she should run courses in how to excel at AirBnB! Wish we could have stayed longer but thank you for a lovely escape, we look forward to returning.
The Nook is located on the hills overlooking the village of Llanfair. It is at the end of a long single track lane, it forms part of Penrallt Farm which ceased being a working farm some 30 years ago. It still sits in over three acres of gardens and is secluded without being isolated. Public footpaths criss-cross the area and lead you down into town, towards the beach or up into the hills and mountains. Harlech and the local area feels like an undiscovered gem of a holiday destination. Harlech Castle is a world heritage site and it overlooks a beach which is hard to match anywhere in Britain. Miles of perfect sand with gently shelving beach perfect for swimming which, even in the peak of summer, is never crowded. (far from it). The beach is a 20 minute walk with the town around 30 minutes away. It is fair to say that whilst both walks are exceptionally scenic they do require some effort particularly on the way back up the hills! A car or bicycles will make life much easier although we have had guests manage perfectly purely using public transport. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane and the railway station is close to the beach.
The public road up, before you reach the drive down to Penrallt Farm, has amazing views over Shell Island and Llandanwg village. Whilst the road winds a little at the bottom it is a normal width single track lane e.g. easily accessible for small lorries (recycling lorry, Baby Oil Tanker etc) and occasional caravan, however please take care; there are stone walls set back into the hedges which can be unforgiving if you stray off the tarmac!
Harlech our nearest town has some free street parking and two pay and display car parks - one serving the castle.
The nearest train station is Pensarn just under 2 miles away - services run to Pwllheli or Tywyn - either way a beautiful coastal journey if you fancy a break from driving.
