We loved being there, listening to birds in the mornings and evenings, looking out over the Sierra Valley. We got up once at midnight to go outside to see all the stars--amazing with no lights anywhere. It was also great sleeping under the skylights looking up at the starry sky. Very easy getting out to Hwy 49 for hikes off Gold Lake Road. We enjoyed all the comfortable places to sit and read, inside and outside. We also appreciated all the books and maps of the area, along with all the fiction to choose from. And the weather couldn't have been better. We had a wonderful time--at the house and on our hiking excursions. I don't think I've ever stayed in a place as peaceful as this place is. And you made sure it was in perfect shape for us. What a wonderful place. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and just love it. Winter or summer, this house provides such a warm, comfortable stay for gathering and just hanging out that it truly does feel like home. We prefer all the space and seclusion of this home to the busy, hectic nature of Lake Tahoe. And it helps that the hot springs are just a few minutes away (be sure to make reservations). Communication with Eveline is great.

The cabin is a dream. The property is lovely and Eveline is a fantastic host. The beds were comfy, the cabin is beautifully decorated, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the scenery and hiking options nearby (plus a delightful spa) can’t be beat. Our family had a wonderful time (including two toddlers and a dog)!
