the place was as described, and on checking in they were responsive. we had to pay an extra tax on arrival. it was our most expensive room I booked during my trip. the restaurant was closed, but they gave us a great recommendation for a place down the road. If you didn't have a car it would have been disappointing. everyone was friendly who we met and they were very gracious when I left with the key.

Stayed for two nights and loved our stay here! Such a beautiful and peaceful property, easy driving distance to attractions, and friendly people. Note, it is low season, so restaurant may be closed for dinner. Other food options are not far away, so don’t let that deter you.

This is a comfortable, clean, quiet place situated next door to the historic Skálholt church, which is an interesting place in itself. There are no pools or sauna here but the restaurant does a very nice job when in season. If you are thinking of visiting out of season, think about dinner in advance because there may not be anything open nearby.

This was a great place to stay for a night. The room was clean, cozy and quiet and we slept well. Shower was a bit small but functional and the water was hot and had excellent water pressure. The check in was smooth and we grabbed a beer from the hotel restaurant and had a chance to relax in the living room. The church next door offered some cool history and was neat to walk around. No frills with this place but it was clean and comfortable.
