We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host with a big smile! The photos and detail description are bang on. The views from the balconies are breathtaking. A short walk to the "boardwalk" by the ocean. An absolute gem. Would highly recommend.

The apartment is in an excellent location. It isn't too near central Funchal, so it is quiet at night. The pool is lovely and very clean. Unfortunately some of the equipment in the gym isn't working and neither is the hot tub/jaccuzzi The slope down from the gate house to the apartment is pretty steep, so not suitable for anyone who isn't mobile. Of course if you have a car you can drive down to the garage. The bus service, which is just outside the compound, is so good that we could be down town within half an hour. The alternative is a walk along the coastal path, which allows you to enjoy the views, but, be warned, it isn't flat, so wear good shoes. At the moment, it isn't possibe to walk the other way to Camara de Lobos. which is a pity, but again, there is a regular bus service, or it is a short taxi ride. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance and we found the local supermarket catered for everything we needed.

This was a great place to stay, lovely setting and quiet. Pool was fantastic - big enough to actually swim in. Great bars and cafes by the sea a short walk away.
