Off grid tiny cabin with on site outhouse, fire pit, grill and access to mountain stream Queen bed, propane heat, and loft suitable for sleeping if guests bring additional sleeping pad All materials used in building out and furnishing are natural fiber/material, organic, or OEKO-TEX certified from curtains to wood sealant, no synthetic fragrances PLEASE NOTE there is no electricity or running water. We provide a charged power block for devices and a 5 gallon tank of spring water. Our property is around 20 acres, from the road to the ridge-line. Only the bottom two thirds is accessible and managed, the rest is kept wild. Our property is also a year 5 working family farm where we produce our own fruits, vegetables, eggs, and poultry. We also share a fence line with a large cow pasture. You can expect to hear typical farm sounds like roosters crowing a cows mooing. Farm fresh eggs are sometimes available for purchase from our pastured chickens, whose diets are supplemented with high quality organic feed. There are trails for hiking, a stream, abundant plant and wildlife, beautiful mountain views, and countless stars on a clear night, as we are located in the only official Dark Sky Sanctuary county in the South East. When/if exploring either perimeter of the property, please be conscious of the barbed wire fence that serves as our property line.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay with you guys! Such a beautiful, magical place -- I can never say it enough, but thank you again for sharing your space with us! Philip and Brianna were both so very responsive and kind, they definitely care about their guests. The cabin was close enough to their home that if you needed help, they were just a step away; but also private enough that even my anxious dog (around new people) was able to enjoy the stay! :D Thank you again, I will most definitely be back! Highly recommend this stay as you get to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains, but you're also so close to other great activities in the surrounding areas.
A magical retreat. I can't say enough about our stay at Phillip's Cabin. the highlights are the stream rolls along the side of the cabin and the mountains sit outside your window. and all the farm animals at the bottom of the hill. There is something very special about the place.
Primitive but clean and functional. Hosts are very responsive and make sure you are taken care of. Sure beats camping and is a great value for what you get.
Amazing property with privacy and stream access to cold plunge is the perfect retreat.
Phillip’s cabin is a great place to escape the everyday stresses of the city and get into nature. You can hear the sounds of the Appalachian mountains as you relax and feel the cool breeze from the nearby stream. Phillip was a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and recommended some fun places nearby like the historic downtown and a swimming hole. He also has ducks and chickens and a regenerative farm which makes this stay extra special.

I traveled a lot in my 20's, went to all the states, a bunch of countries, bicycled from Oregon to Peru, California to Kansas, and a couple other trips. Then I settled down and moved to North Carolina with my Mom to start a farm/homestead. Met my wife who is a local from our small town, had a kid, and now I build and grow things while tending land, animals, and family.
