The instructions say the apartment door says Joie Paris and a heart mat. The apartment instead had a sign saying "THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. RESPECT THE NEIGHBORS. PLEASE BE QUIET". The neighbors pounded repeatedly through the walls. It is clear we were NOT welcome and they do not want you to have people stay there. The sheets had hair and stains on them and many items were broken. I sent the host repeated messages trying to resolve my issues with no response. Today he filed a refund request from me for $2700 for the broken closet door. Airbnb was able to review my messages from our check-in day to the host stating the door was broken and that we were not going to touch it. Airbnb told me the case was black and white, and closed his case immediately. Not only is this place unsafe, but if you address it with the host, he will file a money claim against you.
We had a wonderful stay at Cyprien’s apartment with our kids! Having visited Paris many times, it was nice to stay in a different part of the city and the view of the Eiffel Tower is just incredible - our kids loved it, especially at night when it sparkled. It’s also a short walk to the Eiffel Tower which was fantastic. The apartment is beautiful, clean, uncluttered and had great hotel style bedding. We didn’t use the kitchen enough to fully rate it but for our breakfasts, it had everything one needs including complimentary coffee. The apartment building is being renovated (like most of Paris pre-Olympics) which can get a bit noisy but we didn’t stay much in the apartment during the day. In the evening, everything is calm and quiet.
