Excellent séjour dans cette villa au calme, avec une superbe vue sur Funchal. La villa est confortable, spacieuse et bien équipée (dans la cuisine et les salles de bains, et aussi pour laver le linge). Le parking pour deux voitures est très appréciable. A courte distance de Funchal comme de l'aéroport, sa situation permet aussi de visiter facilement toutes les régions de l'ile . Et une relation tres agréable avec Susanne, toujours très réactive.

We were 3 couples staying at the villa which is in a lovely location with a beautiful garden & views. We were aware that we would be driving in a “hilly” area to get to this location - it is truly not for the faint of heart and once we got used to it, was part of the adventure. If you rent a car, get an automatic with lots of HP😊 We had several issues with plumbing and electrical that made our stay less than relaxing. Werner, the house manager, was very responsive and helpful. The kitchen sink did not drain making it a challenge to cook/clean up for 6. We plunged, used drain cleaner etc to make it drain better and I did ask Susanna to make sure this was repaired prior to next rental. We used buckets of water to flush toilets X 24 hours when rain water collection system was plugged - this was fixed. First world problems I know…but a pain on vacation. Susanna/Airbnb did give us a very modest discount for our troubles. Loved location near levada hikes & Werner’s local recommendations!

Villa Paraiso is a little piece of paradise situated in the hills above Funchal. The views are amazing, looking out over the city, ocean and mountains, and the garden is delightful! The house is spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and well-equipped with plenty of linens, towels and kitchenware. The beds were very comfortable and the roomy showers always had lots of hot water/great pressure. Being right next to one of Madeira's famous levadas was terrific - we used it to walk to the Monte Palace, Botanical and Palheiro gardens, to the Hortencia Tea House and to the excellent Restaurant Bar Horizonte (don't miss this one for their delicious regional food/drinks, friendly staff and, if you are as lucky as we were, a traditional Fado night!). Susanne was an excellent communicator, friendly and responsive and Werner, the property manager was welcoming and very helpful, even getting us to the airport for our ridiculously early morning flight to the Azores - thank you, Werner!

We spent 5.5 weeks in Dec/Jan staying at Susannes villa. The location up in the hills is beautiful, and on a clear day/night, has stunning views down into Funchal. Be aware, the higher in the hills you are staying, the cooler and more misty and damp the weather can be. The drive up and down is not for the faint hearted, but we mastered it, along with using the very reliable bus service, which stops just short of the villa. We were able to walk to Monte on the levada and to the local tea room and restaurant. All very nice and recommended. There was everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, including a washer and dryer, which was appreciated when staying for so long. The highlight of our stay has to be the Xmas lights and celebrations, both in Funchal and surrounding towns and villages. Xmas in Madeira is Xmas on steroids!! The NYE fireworks were absolutely amazing!! Thank you Susanne for sharing your villa, and to Werner the house manager for his kindness during our stay.
