Come and relax with the whole family, or with friends, in our renovated 18th Century cottage. Marjoram Cottage is situated in the heart of the village of Evercreech, in Somerset, with a host of amenities, including a shop, post office, hairdresser, bakery, children's play park and a local pub serving food daily. An ideal location for visiting Bath, Bristol and the Devon and Dorset coastlines. Up the road is the ever popular town of Bruton with a host of artisan shops and restaurants. We have lovingly renovated the cottage, and opened our doors to our first guests in late 2021. It is a quirky home, with lots of nooks and crannies, and quite a few wonky walls! Some of the doorways are quite low, so please be careful if you are tall. When you enter the cottage, you are in the snug, with a dining table to seat 6 (plus a highchair). The kitchen is off the snug, newly fitted with all mod-cons, including a dishwasher, fridge and cooker with induction hob. Through a sliding door is the utility with a small countertop freezer and downstairs loo. There is also an iron and ironing board in the utility. There is a spacious lounge, with a smart TV and two comfy sofas. The downstairs bedroom is off the lounge, with a bunk bed and two single beds (these can be made into a Super King bed if you prefer but please ensure you give at least 24hrs notice). There is a travel cot and bed guard under the bunk beds - NB we don’t provide a mattress for the travel cot for hygiene reasons. There is another smart tv in this bedroom. Upstairs is the luxurious master bedroom with a Kingsize bed, wardrobe and dressing table. The landing is a lovely bright reading area where you can sit and look out of the skylight at the trees, and listen to the birds. We have provided a selection of books, for grown ups and kids, as well as a few jigsaw puzzles. A newly fitted family bathroom is across the corridor from the master bedroom, with a bath, rain shower, toilet and heated towel rail. We provide all bed linen and a bath sheet per guest, as well as hand towels in the bathrooms. Toilet roll will also be provided, as well as hand soap and some basic kitchen cleaning materials. Unlike some other properties we do not charge a cleaning fee but do ask that the kitchen is left as found with all washing up put away on departure please.
