When staying in this area of Puna (about 30 minutes from Pahoa), you are intensely immersed in nature. The unit is in the middle of a well-maintained and beautiful garden. It is comfortable, clean, and has a well-equipped kitchen (though I didn't spend enough time to actually cook there.) I would definitely stay there again. If it is your first time staying in this part of the island, you are in for a quiet, comfortable immersion into nature. Walk to a nearby black sand beach. Explore lava flows. Though Wifi is available, try unplugging and tap into a mindful time surrounded by beauty.

We loved our stay at Jared’s place! It was so relaxing to hear the soothing sounds of the jungle at night. The grounds were lovely and I really enjoyed sipping coffee on the lanai. The kitchen was stocked and we felt so relaxed there. Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the "farm". Jared and Jason were great hosts. It was a unique experience, serenaded to sleep by singing frogs and waking to the sounds of the rainforest each morning. The space was open and the lanai was private for only our unit. The location is, however, quite remote. If the goal is to be in a position to explore the east side of the island, keep in mind that you'll be about a 45 min drive from Hilo, about an hour to waterfalls and over an our to Volcanoes NP. There is beautiful coastline but only one small swimmable beach close by (the other was destroyed by the 2018 lava flows but still neat to see!). The space is also a 20 min drive to the nearest grocery store. The farm is more of a large hobby garden with chickens and various edible plants. While we were there, the citrus fruits, pineapple and really anything besides peppers and leaves were not in season. Overall we enjoyed our stay and think Jared and Jason have a beautiful space.
