自我介绍

I was born and brought up on my families croft here at Weathersta, a place I love to call home. After leaving school I was lucky to served my time as a seamstress and worked in a bridal shop altering the dresses and men’s suites. My love of sewing came at an early age from my very talented granny who spent many hours teaching me on a treadle singer sewing machine. We’d make clothes together and spend hours crocheting and crafting. During the construction of Sullon Voe Oil terminal 44 years ago with the help of my Dad I built the Guest House and over the years have extended it and built three chalets alongside and a large house across the road. It became a very busy Guest House keeping men working at the oil terminal, some stayed over twenty years. It developed into a very successful business. I went back to college and studied catering and was able to train several employees over the years to become chefs and to work alongside me in the guest house. I have three grown up daughters and a son who is at Grays school of art in Aberdeen. I’m still running Valleyfield and enjoy teaching crochet and other crafts in the guest house and looking after the grand kids.
