This is a charming house in an unforgettable town. There were four of us, on a research-related project, who needed a place close to town, with private bedrooms for 4 and at least two baths. We wanted good wi-fi and a place to feel at home, and we didn't want to contend with parking issues, noisy neighbors, lots of restrictions, or a cramped space. We also had cost restrictions with a mandated per diem from our institution. Most folks coming to Smithville won't have these kinds of concerns; they'll want to feel comfortable, have a fun place to hang out and celebrate being together and want to explore the town. Happily, this house works well for any occasion! We admired the charming decor, well suited for a girls' party, but perfectly acceptable for everyone. We had a front porch, comfortable, spacious living and dining room spaces, well-stocked kitchen, private rooms, fun space for yoga and hanging out and a very creative backyard. And, a perfect distance from Main Street. We loved it!

Thank you, thank you Sophie for a dream wedding host home for our daughter’s wedding. You were so easy to reach and so responsive to our needs. The house is even better than pictured and the backyard was a bonus retreat! The adults loved the see-saw! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived and the clues to mystery gifts were so fun! Our bed was super comfy as were the fluffy white towels in the bathroom. And the pink toilet paper was the absolute bomb. We loved every minute there and know that others will, too!!

I can't say enough good things about Sophie as a (super!)host and The Marvelous Maison! Sophie was always reliable and available to us if we had any questions, and she had a guestbook available for us in advance with everything we needed to know, from check in to restaurant suggestions to things to do. The home itself is absolutely beautiful - its unique decor, open gathering areas, and comfortable bedrooms made us feel welcome and was the perfect backdrop for a family gathering in Smithville for a wedding. This was our family's first Airbnb experience, and Sophie has set the bar quite high for us! She even personalized the stay with little treats for us to find, masks and earplugs, and a handwritten card. I could write so much more about Sophie and her beautiful home; I am simply blown away by how seamless this all went, and the exquisite home was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Thank you, Sophie!
