SUMMER AND WINTER SHELTER FOR FAMILIES AND GROUP RETREATS - "Hani Kastania' You will find Hani Kastania inside a magical forest of ancient chestnut trees where you can host a workshop or a gathering in a quiet and private, off grid plot with an outdoor wooden platform in pristine nature, where you could also bring your friends and family for a unique retreat and an alternative vacation with many options. ideal if you feel joy to live in nature. Hani Kastania attracts people who love a natural way of life and desire to experience the authentic side of wild, mountainous Crete. The guests will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, the cool summer climate, the rebalancing energy of trees . It is created to host groups of max 10 people, groups of friends and families. It is situated in an ideal spot for trekking in nature and crossing gorges. Bikers, motorcyclists, hikers and any group with a common purpose will opt for this place. The house is situated inside a plot of 4.500 square meters. The surrounding outdoor space has a 60 square meter wooden platform, a pergola with a cob built wood oven, a barbeque, a table and seats. The fairy-tale like guest house is built from natural materials - stone, earth, wood- energy autonomous with solar panels, a large fireplace and a wooden attic. Inside, on the 100 square meter ground floor there is a large, fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a fire place, a bedroom and a bathroom. In the attic (another100 square meters) there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and two balconies. All ecologically built, with efficiency and in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

We had a wonderfull stay at this house. The house is beautifully located between very old chestnut trees. Due to the altitude of the village the temperature is also quite nice even in midsummer. We had a good time coooking at the outside kitchen which made delicious food. There is ample space to distance yourself from other in your company. Would highly recommend this house for a family or a group of friends. Thank you!

We had a lovely time at Theodosia’s place. Very homely, comfortable house, incredibly peaceful and a wonderful natural setting. You can see and feel all the hard work and passion that has gone into this unique place. The area has amazing scenery and we enjoyed a lovely hike in the nearby Agia Irini gorge and spent a very relaxing day at Sougia beach both very easily accessible by car from the house. Special mention also to the local taverna which had a great terrace with lovely homemade dishes and very friendly staff. Overall a great place to stay.

Πήγαμε με την οικογένεια μου και φίλους στο πανέμορφο σπίτι της Θεοδοσίας στην μέση του νόμου των Χανίων μέσα στα βουνά για 2 ημέρες και ήταν πάρα πολύ ωραία. Το σπίτι είναι φτιαγμένο από πέτρα, ξύλο και χώμα με ένα πολύ όμορφο, ξεχωριστό και ζεστό σχεδιασμό. Επίσης το σπίτι είναι πλήρως αυτόνομο με ενεργειακό τζάκι, ηλιακά πάνελ, γεννήτρια, ακόμα και πηγή με πόσιμο νερό. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα για οικογένειες και παρέες που θέλουν να ξεφύγουν από την καθημερινότητα και να περάσουν ήσυχο και ποιοτικό χρόνο στη φύση. Θα ξαναγυρίσουμε, ευχαριστούμε!

Wirklich schönes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr netter Kontakt. Die Straße führt einmal in einem großem Bogen um das Haus herum, ist aber weit genug weg, das die Straße nicht wirklich stört.

Sempronas is a mountainous village of Platanias. In the neighborhoods that are scattered on a small natural plateau, there are almost 130 residents living permanently. It is a beautiful village with more than 80 natural springs, whose waters irrigate the area, which is green, and end up in the river Semproniotis. The most important of these sources is in Kambi of Sempronas, a location of incomparable natural beauty, with crystal clear waters and ancient plane trees. At Sempronas, there are three large churches, the central church is dedicated to St. George and was built in 1910.
At Sempronas, in the neighborhood of Seli, there are cafes and restaurants available for visitors with delicious, home, local and cheap food.
The inhabitants are mainly occupied by agriculture and animal husbandry. Thus, depending on the season, visitors can find chestnuts, dairy products, olive oil, wine, honey, eggs, cheese, olives and apples of excellent quality.

30 kilometers away from the town of Chania (north) and 30 klm from Sougia village and beach (South) with amazing blue waters, caves and local tavernas that serve fresh fish.. From Hani Kastania you could also set off to explore a)the stunning south beaches of Paleochora and Elafonisi, b) Omalos plateau with Samaria Gorge, c) Agia Irini Gorge, d) Prasses village river and path, etc
