Sandaig is such a hidden gem! I had a wonderful few days here. The views are unbelievable and Roland and Bettina are such kind, generous hosts. Sandaig immediately felt like home to me. There were some unforeseen issues getting to place but Roland and Bettina were extremely responsive and immediately found a workaround. They were also very helpful in giving directions and local recommendations, and their "gift shop" is filled with unique, handmade items that make for really special souvenirs. Knoydart is a beautiful place and I'll definitely be coming back to stay at Sandaig in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at Roland and Bettinas. They are great hosts and we felt really at home. Their home is in the most beautiful location and it was great to stay with folk that are so passionate about looking after and working with the nature around them. We spent a blissful 4 days here, enjoying swims at the beach by the house and following some of the trails that Roland had taken the time to mark out around the coast. Our room had the best views over the bay and was spacious and comfortable.We loved the thoughtful and practical touches such as extra towels for the beach and slippers and wellies which saved us extra luggage as we had come on our bikes. We also really appreciated them accommodating our dietary needs for our breakfasts. We miss Knoydart already and are already planning our return!

Roland and Bettina are not only great hosts, they have made Sandaig to a beautiful place and put a lot of love into it! The room had a fantastic view into the bay, was cosy and spotless clean.. so was the rest of the big house. Roland & Bettina are very dog-friendly (they both have 2 dogs as well) and provided dog bed, towels and bowls for our dog, which we appreciated very much. We also enjoyed delicious home-cooked breakfast and dinner, good chats and lots of walks on Knoydart - a fantastic stay we would come again!

We stumbled upon this place by chance, looking for accommodation near Isle of Skye - and were more than happy to have staid here. Make no mistake, this place is far out, you can only get there by ferry, but the house itself as well as the surrounding areas are more than worth the trip. While Skye is more beautiful, Knoydart is wilder. Spend a few nights here and enjoy the remoteness - and the hospitality.
